We’re a company that thrives on its culture, and our people are our most important asset. To kick off our Employee Spotlight series, we sat down with account manager Cameron Marks, who has been with us for nearly five years and held several roles on our team. She also happens to be a Charlotte native!
After graduating from High Point University, where she majored in journalism, Cameron returned home to the Queen City and began her journey with us. In this interview, she discusses her career path, the relationships that she’s formed with colleagues, and what she enjoys most about her work with our customers.
As someone who grew up in Charlotte, what do you love about the city?
There are so many young people moving here. It’s such a vibrant city. There are so many different parts of Charlotte that make it unique and different, from NoDa to uptown to South End. I love it.
What has your career path been like with CCG IQ?
I applied here fresh out of college. It was my first job out of school, and I started as a StrikeCheck project coordinator. After a year with StrikeCheck, I moved to HVACi as a project coordinator. What’s great about CCG IQ is that the managers recognize talent and figure out ways for you to grow and develop your career. After another year as a project coordinator for HVACi, I moved into an account manager role. I’ve been an account manager for over two years now.
What is a typical day in your life like as an account manager?
What I love most about my role as an account manager is that every day is different. On a day-to-day basis, I reach out to new adjusters who work with us to explain our service. We also schedule continuing education classes to get in front of our customers. We travel and do service overviews along with those education classes. It’s all about developing relationships with our customers.
What is the most rewarding aspect of your job as an account manager?
I love working with people. I enjoy developing relationships with customers and in turn they feel like they can trust us to solve their problems. It’s probably my favorite thing about the job.
How has CCG IQ helped you in your career development?
I’ve been lucky to work with one of the founders of the company. I’ve learned so much from that experience. Also, since I’ve been here for almost five years, I’ve been able to wear a lot of different hats. I’m fortunate to have had the opportunity to move up and grow with the company.
What has been your proudest accomplishment during your time working at CCG IQ?
The one that really stands out to me was the first time I did our education presentation to a group of customers on my own. I was so nervous and worked hard to prepare, so when it went well, I felt extremely proud!
How would you describe CCG IQ’s culture?
I think the best way to sum up our culture is young, casual and fun. We work really hard, but we always stop to celebrate our successes with happy hours and fun company events.
What makes CCG IQ a great place to work?
My managers and colleagues make it a great place to work. It makes the day more enjoyable when you like the people you work with. Even when I get off work, I’m not rushing home to get away from them. I feel like that really makes my job amazing. That’s one of the reasons I love it. I think it’s hard to find that anywhere else and definitely makes this company unique.
What sets CCG IQ apart from other companies?
I think that CCG IQ management really listens and takes action. We’re constantly making changes and always improving. We’re continuously looking to advance, which is great, and it makes me a better employee.
I think that makes CCG IQ unique. We’re not just settling for where we are in that moment. It’s always, “How can we improve?”
